Hi! I’m a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) from British Columbia, Canada. For the last ten plus years, I’ve been working predominately with young ones (2-6 year olds) with significant communication needs and in the school system. It’s fun, challenging, at times totally chaotic, and I love it!
I took a long route into the world of Speech Language Pathology but I have always been interested in communication and how important it is to a person’s quality of life. The long and the short of it is, that after college I worked in group homes with children and adults with intellectual challenges, many who were also Deaf or Deaf-Blind. Throughout this time, the staff worked hard on improving the residences communication skills. I loved this part of my job. When the opportunity arose, I went back to university and received my Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology. I have not looked back.
Outside of work, I enjoy being out in the mountains and getting as much fresh air as I can.
